What a client needs to know about wearing Eyelash Extension
and/or
Flares, Clusters lashes.

I explain to clients if they have any irritation that the client needs to call me.  I explain that hospitals and doctors don't know how to get them off.  The best they will do is pull-off the eyelash extensions and or flares.  The very first set of lashes I did on my friend/model had a reaction, itchy red eyes.  She went to her doctor he pulled off the extensions.  My model said that the removal was painful. She informed me that she is not interested in eyelash extensions anymore, period.   I must be clear that the first glue I used was not Butterfly Lashes glue.  I asked why she didn’t call me.  She said she never thought to.  Hence the first really important lesson learned was to educate my clients should there be any questions or concerns please call me.  I reassure my clients that removal of the eyelash extensions or flare lashes is easy and not painful.

It is very important for eyelash technicians to have a number that is like an emergency number for clients to call with their questions, concerns or problem/s.

One of my clients called at 9:30 pm and left a message.  I called her back immediately.  She had had a cold blowing her nose and rubbing her eyes.  She had an irritation that just would not go away.  I asked if she had a magnified mirror.  Once she could get a close up look she found that one of her natural lashes was being pushed down towards her eye.  She adjusted her lash with a pair of tweezers, instant relief.

Eyelash Extension Question and Answer
Q1. What is Eyelash Extension?
A1. Eyelash extension is a new procedure that extends the real lash with a new weightless and very natural looking synthetic lash.
Q2. How does the extension performed?
A2. The synthetic lash is applied hair by hair to each of your own lash using a special bonding agent that lasts through the length of your natural growth cycle of each lash, which is  between 60 to 100 days.
Q3. Then why do I need to come for fill every 3 or 4 weeks?
A3. Good question. Normally, not all of your eyelashes fall out at the same time. They replenish gradually day by day. You might loose 1 or 2 lashes each day but when your lashes are short, you don't notice it because they are all pretty much the same length. But when your eyelashes are extended, when some lashes fall off, you notice them right away because now, there is a length difference.  Don't worry; when some lashes fall off, there are plenty of new ones that have come out ready for the eyelash technician to refill. That is when you need to come in to be beautified again. Some people like the full look all the time and come in every 2 weeks, some prefer coming every 3 or 4 weeks. You can come as often as you want depends on your financial and time permit.
Q4. How do I take care of it?
A4.  Eyelash extensions are easily maintained. Just don't rub your eyes too hard when you clean them. Avoid any oil based cleansers, lotion or make-up remover. Gel cleanser is recommended. Use a small Q-tip to carefully clean the Eleanor around the eye.
Q5. Can I use eyelash curler?
A5. Not recommended because the synthetic lash already come with a very nice curve to it; also it may disturb the adhesion of glue causing the premature loss of lash extensions.
Q6. Can I use mascara?
A6. Not recommended because we picked very high quality lashes which already with comes good thickness to them.  When you use Mascara, it defeats the purpose of having natural looking lash since it clumps together. Waterproof mascara is definitely not recommended because the cleaning agents will loosen the adhesive. If you insist then inquire to purchase a mascara which is safe for the adhesive.  There are specially formulated mascaras for eyelash services.
Q7. What do I do before I  come in for the eyelash appointment?
A7. You should clean your lashes with mild cleanser. Don not use oily makeup remover to clean your lashes prior to the application. Don't curl your lash. Don't put on any mascara.
Q8. Is the lash extension glued to my skin?
A8. No, the extension lashes are glued about 2mm away from your skin. Neither the synthetic lash nor the glue ever comes in contact with your skin.

After all is done, I explain that if she does not wish to maintain her lashes that she has a couple of choices.  Come back and for a small fee I can remove her lashes easily; or, once her eyelash extensions start to look like a picket fence to shorten the remaining extensions by cutting them closer to the length of her natural lashes.

The better educated your client is the better client she will be.
I hope this has been helpful.
