One of the biggest drawbacks of a wireless is - It drops out suddenly, and often mysteriously won't carry to certain places.  If you have ever tried to connect your network to a computer in a steel out building or garage, you know that it is a near impossible task.

  My first attempt, produced a signal so weak, there was no chance of connecting.  it just flickered in and out.  My second and third tries involved connecting using a MIMO and a WIRELESS N router.  My thought, and the computer guy's, was - They are said to nearly triple the network range. 

  No luck!

That left me two choices -

1. Pay my cable company every month for a second connection, or
2. Try a range extender.

Not wanting to partwith any more cash than I had to, I decided to try NetGear's XE-102 Ethernet Bridge, and their WXG-102 Range Extender, along with my NetGear MIMO Router.  To my surprise - they were easy to use, and gave me a strong internet signal in my steel outbuilding. 

  The XE-102 Ethernet Bridge simply plugs  into a wall electrical outlet.  Then you run an ethernet cable from it, to an empty socket on your router. 

  The WXG-102 Range Extender setup is even simpler.  You plug it in to an electrical outlet, and install the software. 

• Total time invested - 15 minutes. 
• Total dollars invested - under $50.00, purchased refurbished from justdeals on ebay.

Compare that to $60.00 a montth for a new internet connection from my cable company, and you have a nice little savings, not to mention a high speed internet connection.
