Freeplay Energy creates some of the best alternative energy products available.  In fact, according to the company website, Freeplay Energy’s core purpose is “To make energy available to everybody all of the time.”  Rather than filling up landfills with disposal batteries, Freeplay Energy offers products that are able to harness rechargeable energy, including solar energy and more.

In addition to offering energy-efficient products, Freeplay Energy also serves as a leader in the industry.  The company has formed an alliance with several partners in an effort to increase the availability of products that use energy in a more efficient manner. Furthermore, the company operates under Six Core Ideologies.  These include:
  • Results Oriented practices that deliver on the company’s promises to its partners and shareholders
  • Leading-edge technology development and business practices
  • Proactive in leadership initiatives
  • Empowering stakeholders to reach their goals
  • Responsibility toward the environment, employees and the community
  • Being a friend and partner
Freeplay Energy introduced its first product in 1996, at which time it offered its first wind-up radio to the public.  Today, the company continues to partner with leading technology providers around the world and their products are sold throughout North America and Europe.

The items offered by Freeplay Energy fall into seven broad categories.  These include:
  • Radios
  • Illumination
  • Integrated
  • Portable Power
  • Aid & Development
  • Bundles
  • Accessories
Freeplay Energy offers solar-powered AM/FM radios as well as DAB radios.  The AM/FM radios fall into three different product lines.  These lines include the EyeMax radios, which have an integrated flashlight, the Ranger, and the Summit.

When it comes to products for illumination, Freeplay Energy offers lanterns and flashlights/torches.  All three flashlight lines, the Kito, the Sherpa, and the Sherpa Xray are self-sufficient and utilizes LED technology.

Within the integrated category of products, Freeplay offers an all-in-one self-sufficient radio that also serves as a flashlight and a cell phone charger.  For additional portable power capabilities, Freeplay Energy also offers the Weza, which is powered by human step action and can be used to jump start an automobile or boat.  The company’s Freecharge 12v charger, on the other hand, is a handheld device that is powered through crank action and can be used to power mobile devices such as cell phones and iPods.

In the Aid & Development category, Freeplay offers products such as the Lifeline and the Scout.  The Lifeline is a self-sufficient AM/FM/SW1/SW2 radio that was designed specifically for withstanding harsh conditions and being used by multiple users.  The Scout is similar, but is smaller and is meant to be used by smaller groups of people.

Freeplay also offers accessories such as its AC Adapter.  The AC adapter can be used with all of Freeplay’s products.  In an effort to lessen its environmental impact, the adapters are not included with every Freeplay product, but can be purchased separately at a reasonable price.
