About three days ago I fell in love with a handbag from The Sak. It was the perfect summer handbag! Great price,(28.99), to me it was anyways. I was planning on buying it this evening once I returned home from shopping.
While I was shopping I decided to stop in to Ross, the department store. I don't know why, since I usually avoid it. Anyways, while I was in there I wonder into the purse section. To my suprise I found 5 The Sak handbags. One in each beautiful summer color( green, blue, yellow, pink & multi colored). Each one was listed for 12.99-19.99 depending on size. Also on the tag it says the original price was only 48-58 dollars.
When I returned home I looked on ebay again. People were selling the exact same bags for 65.99-89.99! I then checked The Sak website and realized why Ross had them so cheap. These cute summer bags are from LAST summer, they may be "NEW" or "NWT" but new items they are not.
My point is --while some people may be under the impression that because it has the tags on it , it is still worth the store price a year later...it is NOT.
Example: Buying a 2007 car in May of 2008, even though its "brand new" isn't the same price as if you bought it in January 2007!
I would suggest writing the seller a polite comment asking for a better price. I saw some NWT Coach sandals from 3 years ago and I asked for a better deal since they were a little outdated and I recieved! Probably helped that no on else bid on it, but it never hurts to try either way.
