Etro- A Guide to Etro & Fashion
Etro is an Italian fashion house, created in 1968 by Gimmo Etro and still run by his descendants today. The influences for Etro's collections are highly aesthetic and intellectual, embracing the family's world travels and multiple cultures that have inspired them. Elegance is always a trademark of Etro fashions and is reflected in their state-of-the-art production techniques, rare materials, and signature prints.
Etro actually began as fabric manufacturers, famous for their textiles made of original fibers and dyed in unique colors. In 1981, Etro first created a paisley motif, which has since become the symbol of the brand. In the ensuing years, accessory collections for men and women, as well as leather goods were premiered. During the ‘80s, the Etro signature paisley jacquard with a plasticization treatment was one of the most highly sought items in the fashion world.
Among the accessories that Etro offers consumers are a multitude of ties, shawls, scarves, wraps, and handkerchiefs. Etro is known for their sense of humor, as well as their sophistication. Take, for example, their Snakes and Ladder t-shirt, which comes with markers and dice so that you can play the game on the shirt. Their Rebus t-shirt incorporates images of toys, crossword puzzles, and word games.
Etro also offers a line of home accessories. Among the collection are dishes, glassware, tea sets, and place settings in a variety of exotic styles. They also offer a selection of pillows and throw rugs, as well as desktop games like chess. You'll even find home accessories for your pets!
