Most crafters that use fragrances in their products tout them to have aromatherapy value. Some claim to pep you up while others claim to make you relax or sexy or well you get it. Most crafters don't even know the difference between essential oils and fragrance oils. That's why I am writing this guide. To educate you on what you might want to buy and why next time. EO's are the real essence of the herb or flower and FO's are mere chemical knock offs. Some smell very nice but lack the herbaceous green smell that we herbalists expect to permeate our olfactory systems (noses). If you are looking for true aromatherapy items then look for them with 100% essential oils in them. They will be very expensive but well worth it. If a crafter takes time to create with essential oils they are truly serious about their craft. The cost difference is approx 1 oz. lavender FO $2.99 1 oz. lavender EO $7.50 (this is the least amt. you will pay)There are many types and origins of EO's that also affect the price not to mention it takes more than 1 oz to make a 5 lb batch of soap for both. You will recieve the true medicinal value from the EO but not from the FO. Surprised? It's like my Daddy always said......Donjo, What the mind conceives the body believes what the body believes it acts upon, when you understand this you will understand all things easliy. In other words if you think you are getting it what difference does it make? A lot. Educate yourself, knowledge is power. Smell a real orange, better yet squeeze one and watch the essential oil fly out of the peel, rub it on your hand, feel the oilyness of it, smell it again and then again in 1 hour, now go smell that chemical version of it. You be the judge. Here's a little trick I use to tell if my essential oils are 100% pure, place a drop on a sheet of paper, when it dries it will not leave a residue, if it does it has been adulterated or "cut" with a carrier oil and is not 100% pure. Go ahead try it with that $300 an ounce perfume you have on your dresser. Most expensive perfumes are loaded with alcohol as a filler and petroleum distilates as fragrance enhancers. Well you asked....

Now, after reading this you will never be fooled again!

Where do you get 100% pure essential oils? Why, at Donjooriginals here on ebay of course. Just email me and I will put up your own little private auction requests.

Tips: Essential oils can only be bottled in dark glass. No plastic.

Light and heat destroy Essential oils and their medicinal properties.

Don't leave the rubber bulbed glass dropper in the EO bottle, it will melt.

There are only 2 essential oils you can use directly on the skin, Lavender & Tea Tree the others must be diluted to be used directly on the skin without reaction. (the orange test above will not hurt you)
