This guide will outline some very simple yet crucial steps and tools I
have discovered trying to make money on eBay. This will be in bullet
point / Blog format.
- Your state revenue hot line - I can only speak for Minnesota when I say this, however I am assuming all states are similar. As easy as this sounds this is what you need to do. Go online and get the phone number or call you government center. Look for the taxes / revenue department. Give them a call~ A 20-30 Minute phone call ( as long as your not on hold the whole time ) Will guide you to set up a small business in your state. Simply explain you are starting an eBay company and you want to make sure everything is legal, they will give you the easiest instructions ( tax ID numbers usually take 15 Min to get online ).
Ask about extras! There should be free counseling for small business. In Minnesota for No charge and flexible times you get a free counselor who will answer all questions you may have even write your business plan with you FOR FREE~!
The point here is DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE TAX SYSTEM! They will only help! Personally the Minnesota department of revenue is one of the best customer services branches I have ever experienced!
- Your Bank / Creditor's - IMPERATIVE, Again here is some more free help. As long as you don't owe your bank a left leg, get in there as fast as you can! Some might find bankers pushy and annoying but they are full of small business knowledge and don't push you away. They will teach you how to store, manage and move your money. More importantly options of credit with a business plan and tax ID will expand.
Always keep the same bank and banker's as long as you can, as large and corporate as they are becoming, Banks will still always be home town companies.
- Local eBayer's - NO BOOK, DVD, TUTORIAL ANYTHING Can match the help of one experienced eBay..... from starting up to day to day problems you might encounter, even making relationships for security in the future.... Believe me, eBay is one clickly community, get it with who you can when you can in the world of small trade.
- Craigslist - At anyday anytime you can purchase and resell goods for a profit. This is an immediate B2B connection.
Any individual can make more than $75,000yr. 8hrs a day if they combine Craigslist + eBay.... This takes away the question " where am I going to buy my product "
- Thrift stores - HOLY COW ITS TRUE YOU ACTUALLY CAN MAKE MONEY BUYING AND SELLING FROM THRIFT STORES!
( Be careful this can be addicitng :) )
- Packing & shipping- This is one eBay topic thats been to all extremes~ GET AS MUCH OF THE MATERIALS FOR FREE AS POSSIBLE. Cut your costs! BAN YOURSELF FROM PURCHASING BOXES AND FILLER. TAPE AND PRINTING PAPER ONLY.
With millions of pounds of cardboard getting recycled every year makes it pretty simple to get the stuff for free. MANY COMPANIES WILL GIVE YOU BOXES AND FOAM FOR FREE TO PREVENT PAYING TO GET RID OF IT!!! Gas stations will give you old newspapers for free!
Well thats all for right now..... Thanks for reading~!
