Engagement Ring Guide
The classic engagement ring is composed of two parts, the diamond and the setting. The best way is to first start with the center stone , then you can choose any setting that you know she'll love.
How Much Should I Spend ?
Since this is a very special event and a purchase that will last forever, a common starting point is two-months salary. We believe that regardless of the amount your budget, the most important considerations should be quality and value.
Choose a Ring She'll Love
Finding out what kind of ring she likes can be very challenging if you want to keep your proposal a secret.
We'll give you a few tips that will help you to find her taste in engagement rings.
* It highly recomended to go with a gold setting for smaller budgets.
Choose Style of Setting
Solitaire Setting - This is our most popular and the most classic engagement ring setting.
Four prongs holding one beautiful center diamond to catch the most light.
Three Stone Setting - A truly unique ring that gives the option of either a white diamond or a color diamond in the center.
All three diamonds are perfectly matched by our Graduated Gemologist and there are four prongs that are holding each diamond.
Setting with Side Stone - A setting with side stones adds additional sparkle to the Diamond and the Ring.
Pave' settings are small diamonds (melee) that surround all the parts of the ring (head and shank).
Choose the Right Diamond Shape
The majority of diamond engagement rings today are set with the Round Cut.
However, there are more popular diamond shapes like the Princess Cut, Emerald Cut, Radiant Cut, Oval Shape, Marquise Cut.
Choose Your Diamond Size
See the chart below to get an idea of the size of diamond that best suits your budget.
For a 50% larger diamond in size you can choose Clarity Enhanced Diamond
(100% Natural Diamond, equal in color and clarity).
Choose the Right Diamond
We at Diamond Traces believe that a well educated customer makes a smart purchase and we're insuring that by giving you all the neccessary information.

Choose the 4C's of your Diamond
At Diamond Traces, it's our goal to educate all our customers to make sure they are confident in their buying decision. Below is a summary of what you'll find in our Education Center.
Cut - The cut is the proportions of the diamond and it has the biggest affect on its brilliance (sparkle).
A diamond cut with the correct proportions and angles will refract the prism of light more efficiently.
Color - The term color is the actually absence of color thats within the diamond.
As the light is passing through the diamond, it breaks down and is transformed into a rainbow of color.
Clarity - The terms clarity refers to the purity of the diamond. Because diamonds are created by nature with millions of years of intense heat and pressure, imperfections or "inclusions" are often formed in the process.
Carat - The carat weight of a diamond is the unit mass of the diamond. Since larger diamonds are more rare than smaller diamonds, the diamond's value rises with carat weight.
