ENAMEL WARE this was an inexpensive metal covered generally with a flat overlayof color. Sometimes its for decorative use but in the early 1940 and on to 1960's it was prettier than cast iron .It was the poor mans cookware . Nowadays, it is made of cast iron with oerlay of enamel that can be expensive such as the casserole dishes that are highly sought after.some of dishes made of copper or brass have decorative colored enamel with higher gloss look.Today alot of teapots and casserole dishes can still be found on EBAY under tea or coffee pots or dinnerware.
