When you have an issue with your paypal account and cannot pay using their service, there is another way to pay. If the seller is a merchant they can process your creditcard themselves. You can send the card information directly to them. You can also pay by mail or send by fax using the same information. Contact the seller and ask if this is ok and tell them the reason is a problem with your paypal account.

Worried about security over the internet? When sending card information it is a good rule of thumb not to send all the information in a single email. Break it up into segments. Do not associate the card information with an address. This is a big no-no. All card processors are now security minded. They are not to keep that data in 1 location.

So, send the card number in blocks of 4 just like it is on the card  4444 5555 6666 7777 in the first email. (not 16 continuous digits)

In the next email send the expriation date mm/yy and the 3 digit code from the back of the card: example 10/12 and 999. Merchants cannot process the charge without that  code. The card reader will DECLINE to process the transaction that is hand entered without the code. You can be cryptic and send that information this way 1 0 1 2 9 9 9 with spaces between the numbers or 101-2999 and make it look like a phone number. Even the long way October 2012 nine nine nine will keep the number mongers at bay. The merchant is expecting this information and will figure it out.

You can email an image of your card. Digitally an image is just thousands of characters. Send the security code in  a seperate email.

Use the ebay contact system for one or both messages. You can also send the card information in one email then call the seller with the card expiration date and security code. Be sure the card billing information matches the ebay shipping address which the seller already has.
