CAUTION ALERT~Email Hacking is on the rise for ACCOUNT TAKEOVER>  A SURE SIGN OF SCAM MAIL / EMAIL HACKING: is receiving an email in your personal email only and the "ebayer" is asking to be put on your authorized bidders list...now they are really hoping you will respond by clicking the yellow button in the email...by doing so it will prompt you to plug in your user id and your password...bingo, they have the key to getting your personal info straight from you...this includes your financials. Most of the time the id is dormant or fake and the item in question isn't even an active ebay item number up for auction...its bogus...Here is more helpful info regarding this subject.

1) Ebay will send all correspondance to your ebay message center and will follow up with your personal email address~CROSS COMPARE THE TWO ACCOUNTS TO JUSTIFY IF FRAUD OR NOT.

2) If you have a fraud, immediately forward it to : "spoof  at ebay dot com"    (ebay's trust response team will write you back indicating receipt of spoof mail and will inform you if spam or not)

3) Proceed to mark the email spam and delete from system.

4) IT'S IMPERITIVE~ DO NOT SIGN IN FROM EMAIL....SIGN IN FROM EBAY SIGHT ONLY TO AVOID HAVING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION COMPROMISED.

5)I'm targeted weekly. I'm sure many others are as well. It is normal. Commonly you will receive a scam note indicating that you owe ebay additional money or it may look to be from a fellow ebayer asking for a quote for shipping charges from a zip code...ideally all of this information is listed clearly in your auction or a calculator is available..in this case go to ebay, do not sign in from "YELLOW RESPONSE LINK" they will have your id and your password and will hack into your financials from there....

6) AGAIN~ WHEN IN DOUBT~ SPAM IT AND THROW IT OUT!

7) OVERALL~ Use caustion like you would with emails from unknown folks....anti virius protection is not full proof...you need to rely on yourself a bit.
