SCAM ALERT!
Watch out!
Why would anyone want to sell hundreds of email addresses? Who would want to buy hundreds of email addresses, complete with passwords, etc., already set up and ready to go? Scammers and theives maybe?
Try searching for this with the buy button: .com, @gmail.com, @yahoo.com, @hotmail.com
There are some legitimate listings there, so one can't say that they're all scammers.
How can I tell the legitimate listings from the others? Check the feedback.
If the seller's listing indicates that they have 500+ positive feedback, you should see 500+ feedbacks. If the feedback page indicates the seller only has 15-20 feedbacks, there is definitely something wrong. Chances are good that it may be a scam being run from a hijacked account.
If the numbers do add up, open up some of their customer's transactions and feedback. Sometimes, those transactions are bogus.
Check the seller's buying history. Are all of the transactions for under a dollar or for a penny just to build feedback history? Sometimes this is legitimate, most times not. If you get a sixth-sense feeling that it's not, then don't transact with that seller. Listen to your feeling.
Are there obvious external links such as "Click here to email me," or "Pay now" or "Western Union Only" buttons? When you see these, definitely do not transact business. Report those listings.
What about the bidders? Are there umpteen bidders for that listing and they've all got zero feedback or new IDs? Your "scam-alert" radar should be activating by now.
Be careful out there. Bid and buy responsibly. Check out the listing and the seller.
If it's too good to pass up and you feel you must bid immediately, stop, take a break before you press the button. Take a little time to investigate the listing thoroughly before bidding. The money and aggravation saved just might be yours!
