ELVIS PRESLEY DVD LOST HOME MOVIES 1956 FOOTAGE
OK well I'd LOVE to say that this is an excellent DVD of Elvis Presley home movie footage, but I'd be lying. There ARE a few nice moments. It's narrarated by Janice Fadal, daughter of a DJ who befriended Elvis in the very early days. Janice would like us to believe that Elvis showed up on their doorstep often. My take is he either showed up once and changed his clothes a couple of times or showed up once, twice or three times, no more. Janice was 5 at the time and never seemed to age, so it's obvious that Elvis showed up at a certain period of time in the 50s. First, what is right with this footage: it shows a very young and energetic and hopeful Elvis Presley at the very beginning of his career, jovial, top-of-the-world and very friendly. His then girlfriend Anita Woods is in all of the footage. There are a couple of little pecks on the cheek. HOWEVER, there is ONE GREAT make-out scene between Elvis and Anita on the couch, really worth the price of admission alone. Now, what's wrong with this movie: the soundtrack sounds like a knockoff of the Andrews Sisters' Boogie Woogie (not really the correct era-sounding music for this film), the scenes of Elvis are repeated throughout the film ad naseum, the Karate footage I'm convinced doesn't include Elvis at all, Janis isn't even sure, but it's there in all of it's too-dark glory. Right in the middle of the film, we are rudely bounced back to modern day reality by the ringing of a cell phone.
This DVD is for diehard fans only. I'm one of those so I found it an interesting dot in the history of Elvis Presley. I hope SOMEONE will bid on this DVD or I'll be forced to watch it again and again. Have a heart please and buy it from me. EXCELLENT Condition. The picture disk is very cool. If you're worried that I've given away the whole plot of the movie, worry no more; there IS no plot.
