I can only imagine that your thoughts on Elmo are the same as mine were. "Not another Elmo doll!" After having programmed and seen my daughter playing with it I must say it isn't just another Elmo doll. This time Elmo is programmable. I mean everything from the songs he sings, the stories he tells, the games he plays, the names he knows, the foods he likes, and his daily planner can all be changed via the software that comes with him and a USB connection to your computer.
You don't even have to remove him from the box to program. Simply remove the back cover of the box and plug the USB cable from Elmo's voice box to the computer. Then insert Elmo's software CD and begin to personalize Elmo. You will be prompted for your child's name, favorite animal, color, food, drink, friends, family, birthday, age, and to choose any combination of three songs, games, and stories from a list of 15. Finally you will be asked for your childs daily plan to include wakeup, breakfast, lunch, nap, dinner, and bedtime.
Quite a list of personalized features don't you think? I thought so and it sounds just like Elmo, not some computerized version of him. My daughter loves him and I'm not embarassed to say I do too. This new Elmo in my opinion is far superior to any of the previous one trick pony Elmo's. I highly recommend it for your little Elmo fan.
