It is common for many guitarists to only learn their instruments this way. There is no need to be able to read traditional music to play guitar or read tablature.

How to read guitar tablature is easy. The pictures tell you which string(s) to play and what fret(s) to cover via a diagram representing and upside down neck of a guitar.

Many feature entire albums buy your favorite artist - note for note including vocals.  Although there are a few that are just the riffs or solos.

Also can get best of collections and variety books.

There are great how to play style tab books out there too.

Hal Leonard is the largest makers of music books.  Often the books were only printed for a limited time so prices can be high when the book is oop ( out of print ). Some books even come with a poster and include pictures.

Band score books ( usually from Japan ) are rare and hard to find as not only include tablature for guitars but also the Bass guitar tab parts, vocals, drums, keyboards and any other instruments that may be included in the song.

Be sure to view the Tab Book Category although much of the tab on eBay is in other categories.

Guitar Sheet Music - usually just one song.

Guitar Magazines often have 4 or 5 songs transcribed per issue.

Wolf Marshall is probably the most renowned transcriber and has done many books and magazines.

CDs are becoming popular for tablature.  Beware of cheap homemade compilations that can sometimes be found on eBay.
