Efficiency is the seller's best friend.
I have been an ebay seller for a couple of years, and over time I have come up with simple time savers and waste reducers. Now it is time to share them with the rest of the community.
Time Saver #1 - Sending a customized shipping notification to a buyer in four steps.

Time Saver #2 - Tabs make life easier.
Most new internet software allows the user to open new window in tabs. To open a window in a new tab, right click on the link and select open window in new tab, or set the middle roller button to new window (this is what I did to make it even faster) now simply point the mouse on the link and click the button set to window in new tab, presto, speed and efficiency. I like to keep the main screen on My Ebay and open all the links in new tabs. Such as, I have three new items that just sold. Click (the new tab button) on all of the sold item emails, now go to the next tab and send which ever email you want from the pull down menu, close the tab and move on to the next item . . . . . . . until all of the emails are sent and only the original screen is left. This saves time by clicking and loading pages less. Also, hit refresh and the original screen will update. Hope this helps.

Time Saver #3 - Free Shipping Materials.
Preparing an item for shipping can take too much time. First you must have the correct size box on hand, and if not you must make a box which takes extrodinary amounts of time. Not to mention materials cost such as tape. My solution is to ship everything, that will not fit into an envelope, thru United States Postal Service Priority. By signing up for an account at the United States Postal Service website usps.com, you can order boxes of many sizes, stickers, and sometimes tape for FREE. Ebay does not want links to outside vendors so you will have to open a new window and enter the USPS URL. It usually take a couple of week to receive you boxes, but it is totally worth it.
I will keep about 50 boxes of 4 different sizes on hand at all times, though you may sell more or less so order as much as you need, again the USPS wants you to use their service so they will give you free shipping materials provided you use Priority or Express mail.
Go to usps.com > sign in > The Postal Store > For Mailing/Shipping, Priority > Select all the supplies you need.

Time Saver #1 - Sending a customized shipping notification to a buyer in four steps.
- Copy the ebay item title you want plus the space from the winning buyer notification subject line (it is important to get the space too, you will see why later).
- Subject: Good news. eBay item #5945619422 TY Beanie Baby 'Inky' the Octopus retired collectable, copy the italic-bold section with space at the end.
- Then select shipping notification from the drop down menu.
- Subject: Your eBay item has been shipped.
- Now paste the copied text and space before the letter "h" in has into the subject line.
- Subject: Your eBay item Beanie Baby 'Inky' the Octopus has been shipped.
- Now it is customized.
- Finally, send your shipping note that explains to the buyer what item is being shipped without having to open their email.
