Recently there is a seller selling "Eden" body and necks for strats. These parts are good for those who needs cheap bodies for solid color finishes if you feel guilty painting a beautiful ash or alder body a solid color. The body is NOT suitable for clear finishes, grain looks good but the peices are off, and grain is poorly matched, so they are very good for painting. I don't know what kind of ash they use, but it doesn't look like swamp ash and doesn't feel like one either, so its probably northern ash, not that there is anything wrong with that. The contours will have to be filed if you need the sculpted contour of any Fender body, and it takes a bit of with with a wood rasp but it can be done. Neck pocket is not correct however standard strat neck does fit and will intonate properly.

If you wish to buy a body from this seller get the unfinished body and do the work to make it Fender-like, and you have yourself a deal. Avoid the finished body because it really isn't all that good and stripping poly is a real pain. Fill the grain with anything, epoxy, auto body filler, anything that fills and will not shrink.

Avoid the neck however, if the frets are lifted in their picture you cannot expect the actual product to be any better. Also since the heel is not strat heel they will NOT fit a standard strat body and intonate correctly, the heel must be shaped to the correct shape. Furthermore, if you want to use both Eden body and neck the pickguard from a standard strat will not fit because of the heel shape.Using a strat neck on an Eden body is okay since the gaps will be covered by the pickguard or the 22nd fret extension if they are there. Sustain should not be affected as long as the neck is bolted tight to the body. Expect a complete re-fret if getting an Eden neck.

In conclusion, good deal for those who can tinker around but if you want a body/neck that is good out of the box, look elsewhere like Warmoth or something.
