Hello Everyone:
I am so sick of how ebay keeps sticking it further to the seller, it should be up to the seller if they want to accept pay pal or any other online payment service.
this is a monopoly plain and simple, ebay is controlling what payment forms you should accept and how you should conduct business on ebay.
I do not see a problem with accepting Checks, Money orders, or if it is a local pickup accepting cash.
Ebay owns pay pal and they are double dipping in all of the transactions as it is, ebay fee's regardless if you sell the item or not, and the pay pal fee's if you accept pay pal on your auction.
there is a lot of people who prefer to mail a payment because they do not wish to share their information with pay pal, or use their credit cards over the internet.
I feel this is going to be the nail in the coffin for ebay as far as keeping sales on their site.
too many sellers are going to lose customers who in some cases are regulars, and lose sales because of this paperless crap.
I have been on ebay for 10 years, this is my second id, my ex-girlfriend killed the first one, but through it all I stuck to it thick and thin.
but I feel this is actually the end of ebay and congress needs to step in and put an end to this monopoly.
Ebay was investigated before when they tried to make the payment form accepted Pay Pal only and they were stopped.
now it is happening again, who's to say ebay doesn't own this other payment system that is accepted on ebay, we all know ebay and pay pal are the same company.
Pay pal owns verisign the major company most credit cards and businesses use.
do you see where I am going with this?.
this is a monopoly and it needs to be stopped.
I don't care if my auctions get pulled, I will accept all forms of payment that I feel is acceptable especially if I am paying the fee's to post them in the first place.
at this rate Craig's list looks a lot better for selling smaller items, and hopefully soon a new auction site by microsoft or google will arise and save us from this B.S.
Take Care
