Having 2 precious Schipperke's, have put life into my world which is pure unconditional Love & Joy. Okay... except when its time to give either of them medications of any sort. These little pooches are extremely finicky (they must have come from the CAT family of animals). I tried all the Vet advised remedies such as the "Pill Pockets". My dogs actually managed to eat around the pill pockets and still spit out the partially chewed up pill. Now, try sticking a wet sticky broken pill in a dog's mouth? NOT!
REMEDY!! I put the pills in about a half teaspoon of Peanut Butter on my finger, open the pooches mouth and press the peanut butter on the roof of their mouth as close to their throat as possible. RESULT... because of the sticky substance, pets have to keep licking trying to get the peanut butter off the roof of their mouth and while their licking hence THEY SWALLOW and down goes the pill with the peanut butter!
WORKS EVERYTIME!! WORKS ON CATS TOO!!
