 SAFE SHIPPING SOLUTION!

Materials Needed:

1  4-5 inch diameter PVC Pipe 4-6 inches longer than your cam.

2 - PVC Cap Ends same size as diameter as above (optional)

5-6  Sheets of White Newsprint paper. (You could also use newspaper or craft paper)

3-4 ft. of 1" bubble... Bubble Wrap

Shipping Tape, and or Duct Tape

Cardboard

Packing:

• ROLL your Cam in paper and tape it securely. (The paper will help protect the bubble wrap from breaking in shipment)
• ROLL the cam, with the paper, in BUBBLE WRAP with the flat side of the bubble wrap towards you.  
• Tape the bubble wrap securely, including the ends.
• Roll your Cam (now with bubble wrap in place).. In a heavy-duty cardboard and allow at least 1-2 inches of excess cardboard at each end. Tape the ends closed by squeezing flat together and secure them with duct tape.  
• Slide your Cam inside the PVC PLASTIC PIPE!!...Do not allow ANY movement in the tube. If the cam moves, wrap with additional or smaller sized Bubble wrap until you notice no movement. DO NOT OVER PACK IT!

Secure the PVC Tube Ends: You can purchase ready-made, screw on caps, or make your own using heavy-duty cardboard. 

• Hand form a heavy-duty, square piece of the cardboard over each end of the PVC tube and tape over the entire end with several layers of duct tape. ...and your done!

The cost of the PVC parts are a few dollars (unless you know a plumber)....BUT... Most PVC pipe has a 3000 lb crush test!  This method works perfectly!

Where to locate the PVC Tube: You can find PVC pipe & caps, in a variety of sizes at most hardware stores such as Lowes or Home Depot.  Select stores may even have smaller pieces on hand in a marked down or discounted area of their store, so be sure to check there first. Some stores will cut pipe to fit your needs, so if you ship cams often, it is a good idea to shop around for the best prices. This is worth your time & effort.  I usually add the cost of these PVC materials to the actual cost of shipping. Explain this additional cost in your auction. Your customers won't mind paying a little extra ...if they know up front your method of shipping and the level of protection it offers.

I have 14 years in the shipping field. This is the best method I have found for shipping cams and I use this method faithfully....A cam is difficult to ship and awkward to handle due to its length & weight. If not properly packed, your cam could snap in half ..with just minor rough handling or something as simple as a dropped carton.

This method works and will net positive results everytime you use it... over and over again.
