Since I started buying on ebay, a few years back, I've bought a lot of different things. At first I was merely enjoying getting things in the mail.  I know that,  early on, many of the things I bought,  I paid too much for.  I wasn't looking for one of a kind items but paid like I was.  But I've learned over time that almost ANYTHING comes back.  So I started making my dreams reality by waiting.  Those special little home accents that I never bought at the store because they cost too much, sooner or later have shown up again, on ebay, and for a lot less!  So now, when I see something at the home improvement store, or the import shops, or at my favorite catalog store, I look first for an ebay substitute.  I have bought wallpaper, cabinet pulls, lighting, fabric, books, furniture, antiques, parts for antiques, design instructions, art, sculpture, you name it! And when I was patient enough to wait, I found it for less...sometimes....waaaaaaaaay less...on ebay.  I key word EVERYTHING!  Before I buy, I also search completed listing to see what others have sold for.  If I find one of the same thing that went for less, I lie in wait and look every day or I put it in my favorite searches.  Sooner or later, EVERYTHING comes back!  And, don't necessarily be reluctant to look for heavy items, or for local pick-ups.  Some folks have actually helped me find solutions to, or ways around, big shipping costs.  Don't be afraid to ask the seller for ideas. Just remember that on ebay, patience and creativity are virtues that pay off!
