Tissue Decoupage Papers - Fisher Women

Instructions:

1) Start by preparing your surface.  Lightly sand tray and feet with fine sand papers.  Seal with a all-pupose acrylic sealer, let dry.  Lightly sand again.

2) Paint tray with off-white paint.  Edge top and side with purple paint.

3) Cut out your tissue decoupage paper designs, using a small pair of embroidery scissors.  Pre-arrange your designs on your surface.

4) Remove white paper backing from cutout.  Slightly water down your Elmers Glue-All.  Apply thin coat of glue to the back of your cutouts, let set for 5 seconds or until the paper uncurls.

5) Apply paper to your surface.  With your fingers gently press from center toward ends, working out any wrinkles and air bubbles.  Make sure your ends are sealed to the surface.  You can use a stencil brush and pounce the ends.  Clean up any excess glue with a damp cloth.  Let dry.

6) Using a soft brush, apply two to three thin coats of acrylic waterbased varnish, let dry well between coats.  You can add charms, fibers, yarns, and other items with Elmer's Glue-All.

Tips & Hints:

Don't apply varnish with a roller or sponge, it forms air bubbles.  Don't apply paint with a brush it can leave stroke marks (use a sponge brush).  Make sure your paints and sealers are dry, if it is cold to the touch it is still wet.  You can speed up the drying process by using a hair dryer on low heat, hold about 6 inches from project.
