Fun and Easy Halloween Crafts for Kids
I was a licensed daycare provider for 26 years. We always had craft time....the children always had such a fun time. To keep expenses down & promote recycling, I always tried to "use what we had". Here are some examples =)
Egg Carton Spiders
Empty Egg Carton..Black Paint...Black Pipe Cleaners...Googly Eyes...Glue...Push pin
1. Cut the cups off the empty egg carton and lay on newspaper. Paint inside & outside with black paint.
2. Use the push pin to poke 4 holes along the bottom edge of the cup. Poke matching holes on the opposite side of the cup.
3. To make the legs cut the pipe cleaners into 7" lengths. Thread the pipe cleaner into one of the holes and out to the corresponding hole on the other side. Make sure the legs protrude an equal length on each side of the cup and bend them upward at the spider's body. Fold in opposite direction midway down to create knees and bend tips to make feet.
4. Glue on eyes.
Witch's Hands
Clear Plastic Gloves... Candy Corn...Popcorn...Yarn
1. Place a candy corn at the tip of each finger inside gloves, pointy tip up for fingernails.
2. Fill with popcorn and tie a bow at the wrist with yarn.
Floating Ghost
Lightweight White Craft Wire...Clear Tape...White Tissue Paper...Black Marker
1. Tape 2 pieces of 12" long craft wire in a criss cross fashion to a 14" square of double layer of white tissue paper.
2. Trim the paper into a circle, cutting throught the craft wire, then flip over the tissue and set it over a lemon. Use your hands to loosely mold the center of paper over the lemon to form a ghost head, then use the black marker to add facial features.
3. Concealing the lemon, place the ghost on the floor or table and give it a nudge to set it in motion.
Ghost Leaves
Hole Punch...Fallen Leaves
1. With a hole punch, make 2 eyes and a mouth in an assortment of fallen leaves.
2. Place around the house for decoration.
