I notice the early 20th century carmine and lake error of colors give a lot of collectors trouble. These stamps were printed accidentally with the wrong color ink. These errors mean the difference in thousands of dollars. I have seen many dealers post auctions that claim the stamp featured is the error stamp when many times it is not! I have posted here a simple color chart to give you a feel of the difference in color between the issued color and the error color. I hope this will be of some help. As I always say; Do NOT buy any of these issues without certification or the right to certification!
