Eagles for your collection.
Eagles sour best in turbulent winds. This is why I started collecting them. To me they represent strength and weathering the storm. They can soar aloft for hours using natural wind currents and thermal updrafts.
The eagle's image and symbolism have played a significant role in Ameican art, folklore, music and architecture. The Bald Eagle is the United States of America's National emblem. They are a symbol of freedom, spirit, and pursuit of excellence.
"...yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles" Isaiah 40:31.
Here is a little about eagles to look for when you are shopping for the ones you want to add to your collection. Eagles build their nests in tall trees or on high cliffs. Many species lay two eggs, but the older larger sibling often kills its younger sibling once it has hatched.
Eagles are large birds of prey. Eagles are sometimes used in falconry. Like all birds of prey, eagles have very large powerful hooked beaks for tearing flesh from their prey, strong legs, and powerful claws. They have extremely keen eyesight with extremely large pupils which cause minimal scattering of the incoming light.
The bald eagle is a fish eagle. It inhabits areas near large bodies of water where there are plenty of fish to eat and tall trees in which to nest and roost. They swoop down and seize fish in their powerful, long and sharp claws.
They are monogamous and remain faithful to their mate until death. The nests become larger as the eagles return to breed and add nesting materials year after year.
When I am shopping for eagles to add to my collection I use these facts about their life and environment in making choices as to what I will purchase. There are many mediums of eagle art: pewter, ceramic, music boxes, laser lights, barn wood prints, dream catchers, roof birds, and more
I hope you enjoy shopping for eagles and they become as meaningful and representative toyou as they are to me.
