Do you watch HGTV's popular show "Cash In The Attic"?  I don't miss an episode.  One cold winter evening 4 weeks prior to Christmas I was watching this show & thought to myself  "how can I make money on the things I don't use in my house without hauling it to auction"?  EBAY just popped into my mind!

The very next day I started going through boxes of items I had stored away.  The first item I listed was an old Brass Kerosene lamp.  This was given to me as a gift & I had it stored because I was afraid my roudy boys might break the glass chimney.  To my surprise this was an Aladdin Lamp dated late 1800's.  I started the lamp at $40 & it soared to $168.00!  Now I never would have gotten that at a yardsale or fleamarket.  I sat right in my living room ~ in my sweatpants & watched the price climb.  Boy did that help with Christmas coming.  So I started looking for more items and to my surprise I sold almost everything I listed for much more than I expected!  I was making more money on these "stored away" items than my husband was bringing home on his weekly job!

Eventually I ran out of  items to sell and started to look for vintage/collectible items at the fleamarkets, thriftstores & yardsales.  It was funny because my husband & I went to these places weekly just to look for things for our family & now I was going "looking" for something that might sell on my site.

In 6 months I climbed from a new seller to a "Power Seller" with over 350 positive feedbacks.  I have met hundreds of very nice people and have loved collecting my Ebay items!

My whole family is now involved with my Ebay business!  Both of my sons are learning the art of sales:  My 12 yr. old son started his own small business by selling his old video games on my site.  He then grew into buying games & systems & I put everything he makes into his own account.  My 5 yr. old son profited from "letting me" put the books, videos & toys on Ebay.  He loves it because every week he gets more money in his dinosaur bank!  My husband constantly looks for items ~ one day he brought home an old helmet & goggles that he literally found on the side of the road ~ I listed it & it brought $182!!!!

Ebay has not only been "profitable" for my family ~ it has brought my family together in the "hunt" for sellable merchandise & has taught my sons the value of money!  Did I mention FUN?  Yep we are having a ball with our Ebay business!
