EBAY STORES - Using the Mailing list feature
How many of us are taking full advantage of the mailing list feature through our eBay store. Potential buyers can opt in to be on your mailing list. You are able to email everyone on the list about anything you like in connection with your store - new items, discounts, specials and so on.
A great promotional tool!
It does however have some limitations on the number of emails you can send a month and to how many. A work around for that is to have a group. More about that in another guide.
But for now, if you have a store, take a look and see how many people have signed up to receive your emails. You might be surprised if you have never looked at it to see that you have some buyers there waiting to here from you.
What to say in the email? Anything you like - have you written some guides or reviews. You might want to mention that. Do you have new products or time limited specials available? I would mention those.
A caveat: Don't send out emails just for the sake of sending out emails. If you do and you really have nothing to say in them you will find people will leave your mailing list. I don't send very many - many 4 or 5 a year. You could send more often than that if you really have something new and exciting. But don't just email and say - visit my store.
If you own a basic store you can create up to 5 email lists for your buyers, at no additional cost. As a Basic Shop seller, you are allotted 100 free emails to send to your subscribers per month. That means 100 people.
If you get more than 100 people signing up to receive emails from you, there will be an additional charge.
