Dwayne Wade - Dwayne Wade Jersey & Bio
Although it's certainly not true that basketball star Dwayne Wade's off-court accomplishments exceed his on-court ones (none other than Shaquille O'Neal called him the best player in the world), men's fashion bible GQ has also called him the best-dressed player in the NBA. He made People Magazine's list of the 50 most beautiful people in the world, and he was number one in NBA jersey sales, beating out Shaq himself. He's a fashion model, too, for P. Diddy's Sean John clothing company.
On the court, Wade first gained widespread attention as a star player for Marquette University, leading the team to the NCAA Final Four in 2003, and scoring a rare triple double during the tournament against the Kentucky Wildcats. He became a hot pick for the NBA draft, ultimately selected fifth overall in 2003. He wasted no time in making an impression for the Miami Heat, averaging over 16 points a game as a rookie.
Wade's second year with the Heat was marked by the addition of Shaquille O'Neal to the team (traded from the Lakers), and Wade's stats got even better. He's been elected an NBA All-Star twice already and been a key playoff player for the Heat in both 2005 and 2006. Just as impressive, Wade is widely considered to be one of the nicest players in the NBA.
Wade was born in Chicago in 1982 and came from a broken home, seeing his older sister Tragil as one of his most important role models. He was a high school basketball star but initially struggled academically at Marquette. Hard work and strong values paid off for him, though, and now a Dwayne Wade jersey is one of the most coveted jerseys in American sports.
