This guide was written to provide a product comparison between Dr. Denese's Microdermabrasion Cream and Wei East's Green Tea Anti-Oxidant Facial Scrub. A head to head competition if you will.
My "head to head competition" begins with a necessary product for those that would like to look younger. This type of product has many names: scrub, microdermabrasion cream, exfoliation cream, etc. These products are designed to slough off dead skin cells to reveal younger, healthier looking skin. I will begin with a brief description of both products including instructions for use.
Dr. Denese Microdermbrasion Cream
Dr. Denese's Microdermabrasion Cream may seem like a no-frills scrub (as it is appears to be a solid white cream), but upon closer inspection, one can see tiny granuals in the cream. This cream also contains: aloe, rose, fennel, geranium, sage, lavender, retinol, ceramides and much more. These ingredients help nourish the skin while the granuals remove dead skin cells.
Directions: Take a small amount (approximately the size of a nickel) and apply to a damp face after cleansing. Gently work the cream over the face taking care to avoid the eye and neck areas. Be sure not to overscrub! Rinse and follow with your regular moisturizer. This product was designed to work for all skin types (dry, normal, oily.)
The first time I used this scrub, my skin felt as smooth as a baby's skin! My skin is normal to oily and this product has the perfect balance between exfoliation and moisturization. My skin neither feels dry nor oily after using Dr. Denese's Microdermabrasion Cream.
Wei East Green Tea Anti-Oxidant Scrub
Wei East's Green Tea Scrub contains granuals to exfoliate the skin as well as lotus seed extract, green tea leaves and more to help moisturize and nourish the skin.
Directions: After cleansing, take a small amount of Wei East Green Tea Scrub (a little larger than the size of a pea) and apply the scrub to a wet face. Gently swirl the scrub over the entire face while avoiding the eye and neck areas. Rinse and follow with your regular moisturizer. This product was designed to work with all skin types (dry, normal, oily.)
When I first applied this scrub, I was immediately enveloped in the lovely green tea fragrance. It felt like I was having a spa facial. The scrub was very gentle and did a good job exfoliating the dead skin cells. I like this scrub. I think it would be very difficult to "overscrub" the skin with this product. It leaves the skin feeling very soft and moisturized.
HEAD TO HEAD COMPARISON
Of the two products, I prefer Dr. Denese's Microdermabrasion cream for the following reasons:
-
Dr. Denese's Microdermabrasion cream exfoliates like nothing I have ever used before. Although she cautions not to overscrub, I have never had a problem with too much exfoliation.
-
Dr. Denese's Microdermabrasion cream is not overly moisturizing which can be a problem for skin that is a touch oily.
Wei East Green Tea Scrub is also an excellent product and I believe it may be preferred over Dr. Denese's Microdermabrasion cream by the following individuals:
- Those with very thin, fragile skin. Wei East's scrub is much more gentle than Dr. Denese's Microdermabrasion cream, yet it is still quite effective.
- Those with very dry skin (whether it be dry all the time, or weather related such as during the winter or when it is particularly windy.)
- Those who have had a bad reaction in the past to scrubs. As mentioned above, this product is very gentle.
- Those who want more of a spa experience. The light green tea fragrance is very relaxing and quite lovely.
