I have bought Hp 33s on ebay.
I thought it works great but didnt fit in my hand and couldnt use hp33s by one hand .
But I found how to make hp33s slimmer, even slimmer in width than hp32s!
also, you will be able to fit the hp33s in hp32s case which is much slimmer than hp33s enormous case
by doing these!
Just take a look thigs below!
< To remove the thick rubbers on the both side of the calculaor for downsizing >
1. To remove the thick rubbers on the both side of the calc, remove 4 of the small rubber
lids that is hiding screws on the backside of the calculator.
2. Then unscrew all 6 screws. you can find 2 additional in the battery component.
then you will see the rubber layers fixed in the calculator.
3. To remove that, dont remove simply , but cut the protruded part ( the part you can see outside of the calc)
with knife. well, you can also remove metal parts inside the hp 33s to make the weight lighter, and its
recommended.
4. Glue one side of the shaped rubber liner and put it back in the internal calculator frame .
Dont glue both side or you wont be able to open the calculator again.
5. assemble it back, and file the both side of the calc to shape it up!
SLIM!! ^______^
now you can fit it in smaller hp 32s case and also will be able to use it by one hand!
<More modification >
Also , 1 more tip. I thought the SILVER bezels around the calc display really hurts my eyes while calculating!
I did remove this , and it didnt affect any of the performance, for none of the important simbols are written on the
upper bezels of the calculator and it doesnt look so bad without the upper bezel. But never remove the bottom
bezels or plates.
<Notice>
If you have large hand enough to use it with one hand or do like the original one, dont do
these .
And For some people , These modification might enchance the usability of the calc, but how the finish
look will be up to
your technique!
