Dooney & Bourke sold LIMITED styles and colors to selected customers like Macys and Nordstrom. I have noticed it’s not always a special color it’s more the combination of color, trim and hardware on the handbags! You might find a purse with:BLACK TRIM instead of the standard British Tan or Vintage Burnt Cedar
WHITE STITCHING instead of the standard yellowish color thread.
NICKEL HARDWARE instead of the standard solid brass.
I think in the 1990’s
Dooney & Bourke added Burnt Cedar trim and 6 matching TRIM colors to the AWL Collection
Black-Black
Bone-Bone
Ivy-Ivy
Navy-Navy
Brown-Brown
Rouge-Rouge
