I have been looking for a Nikon D40X for a few months now, I had questions concerning the warranty and lenses, etc... and called the 800 number offered on the listing. I was sent to a salesperson (Michael). I told Michael that I wished to purchase through Ebay so I could use Paypal and he told me that he could put it through for me. I ordered ($1200.00) and was pushed to upgrade, he also persistently tried to get me to change the 70-300 lens to the
55-200. He mentioned this change at least 5 times during the
transaction, every time, I declined. The package arrived 5 days later and when I opened it, 1 of my lenses was packaged in an oversized box with no protection or information and the 70-300 lens wasn't shipped. I called and spoke w/ Michael again and he sent me to Customer Service where I spoke to Chuck. Chuck told me that the lens was on back order and he "had no idea" when it would arrive. He then offered me a lower grade lens or 100 dollars back. When I refused both offers, he said he would put me on a waiting list for the lens I requested. I told him I wished to return the entire package and he said that I could return it but, would not get my money refunded. I asked to speak to a manager and was placed on hold again and approx 45 mins later, the phone disconnected. I called back and pushed in Chuck's extension and after the phone continuously ringing for close to 5 minutes, I was greeted with "Hello Heather". I again asked to speak to a manager and was told that there wasn't one available. I was again put on hold for a long time and then spoke to "manager" Ed. Ed already knew my story and told me that Chuck's offer stood firm, I could get a lower quality lens or 100.00 back. Nothing else was offered and I wasn't able to send back package. Not knowing what other options I had, I accepted the lower lens and asked for it to be sent faster so I could receive it by the weekend. I was told it would be sent out immediately and fast shipping. Two days later, I got the email invoice verifying shipment. The sent it slowest service and no insurance. (Throughout all conversation post-purchase I was put on hold constantly for very long periods and hung up on often, when I would call back, the phone would ring continuously then when they did pick up, whomever answered already knew it was me calling.)
