The purpose of this guide is to show the difference between Hand Embroider Bedouin Dress and the Machine Embroider Bedouin Dress. Old Bedouin costumes were richly embellished with fine hand embroidery worked in cross stitch.The design was embroidered across the front and back of the bodice, down the sleeves and along the main seems. Black is the dominating bedouin color. The Garment is loose, long and ample. The armholes are deep to permit a wide sleeves.The dress opens to the waist and is usually unbelted.

Before buying just make sure to have a very close look at it from the inside of the dress ( ask for photos ). Handmade cross stitches ( pics 3rd & 4th ) are made using thick cotton thread and are not very close to each other or irregular pattern, while Machine embroidery ( pics 1st & 2nd ) have very very close regular cross stitches and made with a very thin thread, and sometime you see a piece of paper on the inside for the machine pattern.Yes it's that simple, so look closely, think and then decide before you buy.

One more thing has to be taken into account that the real or original vintage Bedouin dress is made first of one piece colored fabric and then embellished with cross stitches almost anywhere. Unlike the artificial vintage dresses where they consist of different pieces of fabric and cross stitched cloths sown and patched together, usually they look out of proportion.
