Many of you who are dog lovers would love to show of your pooch. Not only their vivacious personality, you want a cute outfit that would fit their personality. Doggy Fashion today is a multi billion dollar industry and most of us want a part of it, specailly me! I have a beautiful mutt named Luckie, a Terrier mix. Upon looking through the dog fashion it was a disappointment for me. There were too many generic, one design fits all clothing and when you walk your dog 1,000,000 dogs are also wearing it. That is when Klub 9 was born. Believe me I bought clothing elswhere too. But my problem was I want my Dog to be different , I don't want her to be just one of the dogs. Here is my point of view of buying manufactured mass produced versus handcrafted dog apparel.

  1. Most of the mass produced dog clothing are always made in ASIA for obvious reasons that it is cheaper there material wise and production wise. All paet apparels are in assembly line and QUALITY is easy to overlook. Material wise is mostly thinner and lesser quality than the US MADE. While Handcrafted dog apparel are mostly higher in quality better craftmanship because there is no volume to make. Most crafters in ebay put their hearts and soul in their work which makes the garmnet more valuable. Designs are their own, no generic patterns, over manufactured designs. Most crafters and small businesses take pride in their work and obviously make sure that the garment they sell is up to their pride and level.
  2. Cusotmer service is the key. When a customer asks a seller a question regarding the garment a crafter that makes her own line of clothing can tell you exactly how it was made and the sizing. They can't just tell you "well according to the maufacturers guide....." How it would suit your dog and so forth.
  3. Pricing of course those high end Fashionaista at Bryant Park now knows this growing industry. Most BAG Maufacturers now sells dog apparel, Burberry, Juicy Couture, GAP, Old Navy most of these company wants a part of this mult billion industry too (not that they need it). But then again all of their apparel are mass produced and with the label it has the consumer has to pay the price. Don't get me wrong I love my dog but i just don't want to pay $145 on a shirt. Crafters pricing are mostly inexpensive, speically when they are starting out, and they have mostly control of it too, because you are buying directly to them no middle man.
  4. So how are you to lose as a consumer when you have a QUALITY, INEXPENSIVE AND UNIQUE dog apparel if you buy the handcrafted ones versus manufactured. Aside from helping the economy YOU always comes up the WINNER!
