Have you considered what your dog thinks of what he or she is wearing? Was her cocktail dress or his tuxedo shirt actually made for a dog, taking into consideration a dog's safety and comfort, or did you get an item of doll clothing that may bind or be adorned with items that can cause the injury or even death of your precious friend?
While some doll clothing may be acceptable for you pet others can pose a hazard. There are sometimes buttons or other embellishments that can cause your dog to choke or boas that may poke & irritate your dog. On the other hand, there are many credible sellers who do not try to pass doll clothing off as clothing for your best friend and they sell items that are genuinely created for your precious pal! Of course, you should always make sure these items are safe for you pet but chances are they're safer than the doll clothing & will fit your pet more comfortably & attractively. The best example of "doll clothing sold as dog clothing" that is problematic is a sweater that has arms that go straight out to the side. If this item had actually been made for a dog, the "arms" would have gone at least slightly downward/forward. Some doll sweaters or dresses have boas around the neck. The boas can have sharp, pointed ends that can poke your sweethearts little neck and cause irritation or even injury. Items like this should be avoided even though they are aesthetically appealing. There are items made specifically for dogs that have boas and these are usually fine because the dogs' safety and comfort have been taken into consideration. Buttons and beads are other common things that can cause serious injury or even death. They are perfectly acceptable as long as they are not in an area your dog can reach and chew. One last thing to consider -- drawstrings. There are so many fun, warm hooded jackets available for our babies/brats but many have drawstrings that can cause strangulation. If you purchase one of these you should either remove the drawstring or not let your pet out of our site while they are wearing the item.
While some pieces of doll clothing may be shown on a dog and look acceptable, they are often uncomfortable for your pet, especially in the underarm area. A dog sitting still for a photo is much different from a dog trying to walk around in an item of clothing that binds and irritates!
