That would  be my main advice. I happened into a large stash of  vintage thimbles, first thing I did was come here to ebay and research them. I looked into pricing, average sold price, what types sell better singularly or groups and auction or store. I found that sterling silver and enameled ones go best on live auction. While porcelain ones especially ones part of a collection go better in a store why? you say. With the silver and enamelled ones people will want them to add to a collection. With the porcelain ones, people will go looking for them as they need a particular one to fill a void in theirs ie they have 12 of 15 and need the last 3. Make sure to provide pictures and be willing to provide more.
