If you have ever had to remove the clutch hub nut, then you know how handy a clutch hub holder tool can be when faced with such a task. Most people do not realize how tight a clutch hub nut is until they try to remove it without the tool and damage the hub itself, usually by breaking off a small piece, remember a piece of cast metal does not bend, so don't plan on bending it back if that long screwdriver or prybar slips, as you may or may not have thought about when you planned on using it. That's when you realize just how in-expensive it would have been to get one of these tools and keep it around on the shelf, probally alot cheaper than the hub will cost to replace.
A clutch hub holder tool can be easily made by almost any home do it yourself person, as most bikers seem to be, by simply taking one of the old steel clutch plates from the model that needed the tool, and spot welding a metal rod onto the side, careful not to let the rod overlap into the center hole of the steel plate, if you do it will not slide up onto the clutch hub far enough to be very effective. One could even go as far as welding two steel clutch plates, one on each side of the metal rod, with spacers around the diameter of course, and thus create a extra heavy duty clutch hub holder tool. If you look around and start asking, you will find most bikers already know someone with a small welder, most who would probally help for cheap, or free for return help in the future, thus a clutch hub holder tool made for any specific hard to find model, for pennies!! No more damaged hubs!!
A conclusion is merely a point where someone else got tired of thinking!!
