If you have had a problem with either selling or buying on Ebay the most important thing to remember is to keep an open mind. Put yourself in the shoes of the other person for a moment and think, What would I want done for me if it were me in this situation. As a seller I need to remember the customer is always right. within reason. As a buyer I need to remember the seller is doing the best they can do.
Communication is the key when it comes to fixing the issues at hand. Time also plays an important factor. If you feel that you are not being treated fairly, say what you mean without saying it meanly. Re-read what you write and ask if I got this note would I receive it well? if the answer is no revise it. Ebay and Pay Pal are there for us if we can't resolve a matter one on one. Stick to the facts when writing them and remember to treat others as you would wish to be treated.
Also, as a side note. When mailing a package either to a buyer or back to the seller ALWAYS get a tracking number. It is a minimum price to pay when you need to prove you mailed your packages.
