Your fairy figurines are priceless! You've either received them as a gift or purchased them with your hard earned money. I thought I would pass along some hints for displaying your fairy figurines as well as other figurines in general.
The best place is within a wall unit or curio with glass doors and perhaps glass shelving. Halogen lights will make the fairies sparkle. The wall unit should not face a window as direct sunlight tends to "yellow" the hard cast resin that most fairies today are made of.
Some fairy ornaments come with a little pick that you can use to display the fairy in a planter. The ornaments also have a little loop, made of gold or silver lame or clear plastic line, that allows the fairy to be hung from a ceiling hook.
When I had my little gift shop years ago I had a marvelous fairy display. I used a large wrought iron plate hanger and hung it securely from the ceiling. I believe we had ceiling tile in the store and we used aircraft wire to suspend the plate holder from the ceiling tile frame. You might want to have someone who's handy do this for you so that the plate displayer doesn't fall. Tiny silver hooks were used to hang the fairies up. I added various lengths of clear plastic line to each loop so that the fairies looked like they were scattered and flying around in circles. Everyone loved the display.
So if you see a plate hanger at a flea market think about using it for a fairy displayer!
