When searching for a special piece to add to a collection extra caution is needed, especially if it is something popular like Disney's Mickey and Minnie Mouse items. My daughters have always had a fondness of Mickey and Minnie Mouse since birth! I always try to add to their collection here and there with unique, but inexpensive pieces. As long as it's Mickey, they pretty much doesn't care. When I recently saw a set of Mickey and Minne figurines as a set for sale I was in my glory! They were a great size and just in time for the holidays! I eagerly and quickly bid hoping these would be the newest additions for this year. The pictures were good and disclosed a minor chip on Mickey's nose.

Boy was I surprised when two ceramic studio pieces showed up! They were exactly as described but not what I had expected. They were Disney's Mickey but not from the Disney Mickey collection.

Moral of the story...becareful when you bid and read the listing thoroughly. If it does not say authentic Disney or fails to show a (c) disney marking, you may be paying too much money for someone's old ceramic project. (Although the seller did do a wonderful job of packing, it was my bad for not double checking for official markings.)
