Disney artists produced these items in limited editions, a production run of 15,000. They are made of heavy porcelain and generally measure in the approximate range of six inches tall and six inches wide. They are distinctly marked with a silhouette of a Mickey Mouse profile with a paintbrush. They are marked THE DISNEY COLLECTION, Disney's Magic Memories followed by the name of the piece i.e. Robin Hood. Designed by WALT DISNEY ARTISTS, Limited Edition, the number of the piece 15,000 copyright mark Walt Disney Productions.

The figurines depict the title character along with a supporting cast. Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, Bambi, Cinderella, 101 Dalmatians, Peter Pan and The Jungle Book are just a few examples of the title characters represented in these limited edition series. The Magic Memories Figurines were produced in the 60's 70's and 80's. The figurines produced prior to 1968 are now the more sought after. They were made of higher quality bisque porcelain and retailed for $55.00. The lower number figurines of an edition tend to be more sought after and therefore are of more value, although any of the figurines of a particular edition posses an equal esthetic valve for display purposes.

Prior to purchasing a Disney Magic Memories Limited Edition Figurine, do your homework, determine the production date and check for the above-described (see also the markings on the pictures). A visit to the completed page of items sold on ebay can provide a wealth of useful information, which can be used to authenticate the figurine you are interested in purchasing. A picture of the item along with the distinct Disney marking can assure the buyer they are bidding on an authentic quality Disney figurine and not a poorly crafted reproduction.
