Yes, I do think that the Bugaboo is expensive, but I have yet to find a stroller that I can take apart by myself WITHOUT the assistance of a sales associate. There are no "easy to take apart" strollers. Parents need to learn and practice how to fold the strollers. The Fisher Price Infant to Toddler does not look anything like the Bugaboo and from the pictures that I saw is primarily made of plastic.
There are many other stollers in the market place that are significantly cheaper and come with more options such as, infant car seats, cup holder, storage baskets, etc. An example would be the Graco Metro Lite Travel system that sells for $199.99 at Babies R Us. However, my wife is petite, 5' tall and about 95 pounds which means that lifting this travel system is difficult for her. I am sure that there are many other women who also have difficulties lifting their strollers. Sales associates in Target and Babies R Us have told My wife and I to stay away from the larger travel systems. Apparently many people return them for smaller, compact, lightweight strollers.
Babis R Us sells a Bugaboo knock off by Maxi Cosi, looks identical but does not have an option for a bassinet. For us the most important aspect is the weight, bassinet option, comfortability, and ease for airplane travel. We are considering purchasing a Mutsy 4 Rider yes it's expensive (cheaper than the Bugaboo) it has more options and the accessories are cheaper. Good luck to everyone else!
