I've been using the Digital Ultrasonic Cleaner CD-3800 to clean the vintage jewelry from estate sales that friends donate to me to sell on ebay. (A local pet charity receives all proceeds from the vintage and near-vintage jewelry collections.) I do NOT sell this product myself and don't know anyone personally who does so I have no vested interest in promoting it. After a few months now of using the ultrasonic cleaner on old jewelry, and I must say -- I'm IMPRESSED!
I've used the Digital Ultrasonic Cleaner on old, dull jewelry gummy from hairspray, body lotions and oil and I'm truly amazed at how brilliantly they shine when I take them out of the little stainless steel tank. After running them through a few cycles, I simply rinse them off (since I use detergent in the tank) and allow them to air dry on a soft towel. Most items -- even some of the pieces with embedded "gunk" of hairspray-- shine like new.
I sell vintage jewelry and new fashion jewelry (especially necklaces, bracelets and earrings). I just like for my customers and prospective customers to know of a good method for cleaning their jewelry. An ultrasonic jewelry cleaner is safe for most jewelry items -- except pearls! Special care should be taken with pearls -- whether ocean or freshwater pearls. But that's another subject that perhaps there are plenty of reviews already written for you to review.
Benefits of Digital Ultrasonic Cleaner:
- No harsh chemicals used
- Economical -- buy it once (at about $35 ) and use simple tap water and liquid dishwashing detergent
- Small and lightweight (store it in small space and put on countertop when using)
- Deep cleans and sterilizes (important since I want to sell only the cleanest vintage and near-vintage pieces)
- Fast and easy to use (just fill stainless steel tank with water (1 pint) and press a button
- Operates quietly (just a bit of a low hum)
- 5 working cycles to choose from (I always use longest cycle with detergent and usually re-run it three times to ensure items are completely clean and sanitized)
- Includes watch "stand" so you can keep watch mechanism out of water while watchband is cleaned
Although I use it almost exclusively for cleaning jewelry items (mostly the vintage and near-vintage pieces and some new beads that originate from foreign countries), this is an excellent product for also cleaning old coins, eyeglasses, silverware, small machined metal parts and even dentures!

Hope you've found this guide helpful! And I hope you checkout my ebay store -- especially the vintage jewelry pieces since the proceeds go to pets medical care. I never know what will be donated for auction so stop by often to see what's available. Also, I always have new fashion necklaces, bracelets and earrings added to my inventory weekly. Most are made in the USA and are under $30. Weekly auctions include necklaces with a starting bid of a penny!
