These were done from the same photo.
Update: My daughter loved the Cosmo, but when we switched computers, we had technical problems. There is no longer any technical support for the Cosmo program.
While searching for Digi Makeover on ebay, I turned up a Cosmopolitan Virtual Makeover. Since the Digi Makeover was sold out, and the going price was so high, I decided to do some research. I found that there was some disenchantment with its operation.
However, I did read some reviews that praised Cosmopolitan Virtual Makeover 3 (be careful to get the program and not the sampler). I decided to try this (at a fraction of the price).
When the package arrived, I experimented to see if this would do. My daughter is 11, and I have no doubt that she could easily operate it. True, Cosmopolitan is for adults, but the program is not inappropriate for this age group. I had a blast with this program! I completed two makeovers to put in a photo Christmas Card with the disk, so she would be just as excited. I created one "doll her up" magazine cover, and I also made one that was as goofy as all get out! I laughed out loud to myself the whole time. The program allows for make up, hair colors, highlights, accessories, contact colors, and a plethora of hairstyles (short, medium, long, and outrageous).
I give this program an A+ for kids of the tween years who are familiar with the basics of a pc. You must be able to put a picture on your computer (using a picture disc, email, etc.) The only drawback is that the final product is limited to the magazine cover (there are no alternative scenes and settings). I am very pleased with myself on this find, and I thought I would share with you ebayers!!
Update: My daughter loves the program. She has made herself over several times, and she has created a goofy mom picture as well.
On the Other Hand: She did get a Designer's World by the same company that did Digi Makeover. I have to say, it is easy to use and I can see the appeal of the TV setup. My conclusion is that younger children (8-10) would prefer the Digi Makeover, children 11 or 12 could go either way, and 12 + would definitely prefer Cosmo for a longer period of enjoyment.
