Difference Between DVD-R and DVD+R
Slight difference in name, but there is a difference in performance.
DVD-R was the first type of Recordable DVD Made. DVD+R came out a few years later.
To summarize without including the technical information, DVD-R has poor error correction and is more susceptible to errors.
DVD+R however has better error correction and will play more smoothly in a wider variety of DVD players and computers.
I found this out the hard way, I tried burning some DVDs, using a DVD-R. I set up menus for navigation. I got a ton of errors from start to finish when playing them.
I later on bought a DVD+R, and i saw there was a major difference. The DVDs played smoothly even with the menus fully functional.
So after researching using Google the answer became apparent to me.
