Hello everyone ...
A helpful hint when bidding on and buying diecast is to make sure the item you are bidding/buying is EXACTLY what you expect it is. There are several sellers out there that have really nice digital cameras that can take awesome zoom in pictures. These close-ups make the small 1/64 scale cars look like 1/24 scale cars. Needless to say, I've seen these auctions go for 3 times the price of other auctions for the exact same car.
For example, I was selling a 2006 Dale Jr Fathers Day Retro Elite recently and it didn't sell with an opening bid of $9.99. However, the EXACT same model sold for $25.49 and another one for $31.00 on the SAME day.
These sellers usually do not list the scale of these cars in their title or description (I list the diecast scale in 3-4 places). Therefore, you should always make a habit to look at the ebay fields sellers are required to fill in for diecast, which include the scale. They are located at the very beginning of the item description. Otherwise, you may be buying a really small car when you absolutely expected a larger version.
Happy eBaying!
