I have been using my diaper Genie for about 5 months now and I LOVE it. I live in an apartment and it's not that easy to just put things in the trash then take them out to the dumpster and with racoons and skunks you don't leave trash on your porch (it's against regulations here). I, unlike most people probably, spray mine with lysol after taking the diapers out of the Genie. That helps the smell not build up big time. If you don't do this,  ultimately it will build up and smell horrid! My son poops a couple times a day and I love this thing. As long as you keep it clean it works.
