I am a first time mom and I thought I needed every baby related item on the planet. I thought I found such a great buy when I found a perfectly clean and wonderful Diaper Genie at a baby resale shop. I bought it and took it home thinking I had really found a great deal.

I was very pregnant at the time and thought maybe I was just doing something wrong. I couldn't get the darn thing to work right. I thought I should just calm down and put it away for a while. So, after my son was born I got it back out and tried to use it again. It's much more trouble than it's worth, it smells and with the amount of diapers in a day....well it's just eaiser to put them in the trash and take them out. The diaper genie is supposed to wrap the diaper up and keep the "scent" of the diaper from escaping and attacking everyone in the house! The feature where it is supposed to wrap and cut doesn't work at all and is much more work than it's worth.

The diaper genie is just one of those items your nursery will be better without. It gets in the way, doesn't keep the odor locked in, doesn't wrap and cut the barrier around the diaper properly and all in all is a dissappointment. I have talked to others who feel the same way. People told me prior to buying it that I wouldn't need it or use it. I thought they were crazy. I wish I would've listened. 

Please don't make the mistake I did! The really bad part is when I took it back to the resale shop to try to trade it back in, they didn't want it either! I took it to another one and they didn't want it either. So....it got thrown in the dumpster at my apartment as soon as we got back home!!!!
