Hello My name is Dan Jelladian, and I am the Buyer for DiamondDR1. I would like to share some pointers that will help you when buying Diamonds. Your goal is to buy the Most Diamond for your Money. We will analyze the 6 C's and then you will feel more comfortable with what you choose. What are the 6 C's? #1 CARAT WEIGHT. #2 COLOR. #3 CLARITY. #4 CUT. #5 CERTIFICATE. #6 COST.

CARAT WEIGHT is the size of the diamond. Do you like a Big Stone that has a few imperfections, or would your prefer a smaller diamond that is Clean Under the GemScope and Ideal Cut? A carat is a measure of weight. A 5 carat Diamond weighs 1 gram on the scale. There are 100 points in a carat. So a 50 pointer is a 1/2 carat. The larger a diamond, the more rare, and the price rises with the weight.  What size Diamond Does she Want? What Shape Diamond? Talk to her before buying a diamond, She will be the one wearing it, So ask her what will make her happy. With our prices and quality, we will help you to exceed her expectations.

COLOR is a very important factor on the Price and the Beauty of the Stone. D color is the highest grade that a diamond can achieve. This color means the diamond is colorless, and shows no trace of color. DEF color is the Highest end of the Spectrum, and can really increase the cost of the stone. GHI is White or Near Colorless. JK is the first shade of a light tint of yellow. LMNOP continues to get more Yellow and the scale goes all the way down to XYZ color. After this is the Fancy Yellow, which is a more Pure Saturation of Color. In the Fancy Colors the first shade is Light Fancy, Then Fancy, Then Intense, Then the Highest Color Purity is VIVID. Vivid is the most expensive and rare of the natural fancy colored diamonds. When Buying a wedding ring, most people like to buy a whitish stone, JK color or better. If you like Platinum or White Gold- You probably want to go with a Diamond that is H color or better. If the diamond shows any color it would probably be better set in yellow gold. The gold can absorb the body color of the diamond. The Purity of the Color can enhance a diamonds beauty. There is nothing more beautiful than a D color Ideal Cut Round Brilliant Diamond. The best way to judge the color of the diamond is table down and against white paper, and comparing against master stones.

CLARITY is  the grading of how pure the Diamond is. How clean is it, How does it look to the naked eye from 20" away, How does it look under a 10x loupe. The highest Clarity Grade is Flawless, Then Internally Flawless, Then VVS1, VVS2, VS1, and VS2. These are the Higher end Clarity Grades. VVS1-VVS2 are So Fine, that you will not be able to locate any imperfections even when looking under 10X magnification. VS1 is also considered clean and excellent in the clarity department. VS2 with a loupe you may be able to notice a tiny imperfection that Can Not be seen with the naked Eye. Next is the SI category- which is means Slightly Included. SI1 is the first degree it means that the diamond is 100% eyeclean, and you will need a loupe to see the characteristic inside the stone. SI2 is a little more included and is the last stop on the scale in the eye clean category. SI3 is basically a Great looking I1. I1 means that the diamond is imperfect and from 20" away you can locate some sort of flaw with the naked eye. Next is I2 which is a little worse, and I3 which is Lousy- Looks like shattered Glass. I think the most Value is in the VS1- VS2 area.

CUT . The cut of a diamond is Extremely important. It is what makes the diamond Shine. Ideal Cut, Near Ideal Cut, Brand Names Cuts, Old Cuts, European Cuts, and Weight retention cuts. Many people ask me, Why don't they cut every stone Ideal? Most diamonds are cut for weight retention from the rough. If they can finish a 1.00 carat, instead of an ideal cut .89 they can achieve a higher price on the Price Guide. A diamond cutter can lose his job if he finishes a 1.99 instead of a 2.00ct. The price drops drastically at every level. How do i know if a diamond is ideal cut? I recomend a GIA certificate or an AGS certificate is excellent when it comes to Cut Grade Analysis. GIA recently added a cut grade to their report, rather than just polish and symmetry. You can really See the difference when looking at an Ideal Cut Round Brilliant, compared to a Heavy made Average cut stone. Cutting technology has really improved over the last few years, and the market is paying the price for fine makes.

CERTIFICATE. The most respected Gem Lab Certificate in the world is without a doubt the GIA. They are located in New York City and Carlsbad, and they are a non profit organization that is make the  industry standard on Diamond and Gemstone Grading and Analysis. The next most popular lab is EGL, and they have labs in NY, LA, Israel, and Belgium. Next is AGS and their strong point is the cut grade analysis. HRD is a well respected Belgium Certificate that diamond importers use. If you are buying a diamond over $20,000 cost, I highly recomend a GIA Certificate. They are the most accurate and if you ever want to sell the stone, you won't believe how much easier it will be to sell. The EGL does a nice Retail Report and gives an actual Retail Replacement Cost Value.

COST. Choose the highest balance of all of the factors here for your diamond. We are buyers and look for value, then we describe them exactly as they are, and auction them off at No Reserve. If you are in the market for a diamond, there is no better place in the world to buy a diamond. If you have seen a setting you love, we can create it, and for a wholesale price. We try to make the most elegant and in demand styles in white gold and platinum. See our store everyday as we not only sell our diamond rings, but we also buy out Retail Stores and liquidate goods to the highest bidder. Retail Prices are a thing of the past. We are happy to find you the Diamond of your dreams, for market price. We are volume buyers and simply get better prices because we buy millions and millions of dollars in loose diamonds every year.

I hope this has given you some insight and good information on buying diamonds. Let me know if i can help you to Buy, Sell, Trade, Recut, or Appraise any Diamond over 1 carat. Thanks and Congratulations. Buying a diamond is one of the happiest times of a persons life. She will be much happier when you Maximize the Size, Quality , and Value of her diamond.
