They are easy to get on or off. Diabetic socks stretch more so they are easier to get on and off.
Great for circulation. Don't bind as much. if you are voluptuous, they may fit better, too.

Tips:
- Dry your feet after shower or bathe.
- Pat feet dry. Don't forget between the toes. A small dry washcloth or microfiber works well. In fact drying hair after shampoo (patting) with Microfiber towel, is recommended too.
- Pamper yourself. You can make your own foot spray.
- Home remedy (not tried) Athletes feet: After showering, dry your feet, then spray them with rubbing alcohol dispensed from a pump-spray bottle; then either let them air dry or dry them with a towel or hair dryer. The alcohol dissolves the water and helps dry the skin. This will reduce the risk of attracting the fungus that causes athlete's foot. Menthol rubbing alcohol would be ok. If buy Citrus. It goes bad, so keep in refrigerator for cool spray. I use a Vinegar water spray as a preventative and put some room air freshener or something to make it smell nice. Others use Vicks vapo-rub overnight on the feet to get rid of athletes feet.
- Treat: Roll your feet over a couple of chilled cans of soft drink straight from the fridge.
- The winter itch that cracks the skin of the heels is due to excessive dryness or the use of an alkaline soap can be treated by washing the feet at night in warm water and mild soap and applying a lanolin rich cream or mixture of glycerine and rose water. They really recommend liquid soap for shower as there are no animal fats in the bars, easier to clean.

The best soap I imagine might be Basis or Castille (olive oil) or acid formulated syndet, if you need a bar soap. Normal skin has a ph of 4.5 to 5.75 and 6.5 under the arms. Soaps are pH 7 to 12. You really want a syndet which is a synthetic. Body washes, may be a smarter choice.
Shampoo:
Acid PH is better in shampoo, as well. because the alkaline swells the hair shaft.
- Avoid Ammonium: as in Ammonium Laurel Sulfate or Ammonium Laureth Sulfate compounds such as Pert, and some Helene Curtis Finesse Plus. It will be one of the first ingredients.
- Ingredients in shampoos that are possible sensitizes include formalin, parabens, hesaxhlorophene, fragrances, triclosan, and miranols.
- Some suggest switch Shampoo every 6 weeks /between two brands to Clarify. Or use a clarifier (recipe below). One idea would be to just have the hairdresser do this when you get the ends trimmed. Cool, simple. I like that!
Which shampoo formula?:
- Use a dry hair formula if you are mature, have fine hair or shampoo often. Reduces static electricity..but cleans so poorly may lead to greasies look. This is because conditioner builds on shaft. If this happens need to clarify.
- Oily formulas are too drying for everyday use. Alternate with milder shampoo.
- Normal formula ok for coarse hair, Not ideal for fine unmanageable hair.
Pamper Recipes For your Feet:
Peppermint Foot Spray Recipe
Treat your feet to this tingly foot spray. The peppermint smells great and will revive tired feet in no time.
Ingredients
- 1 cup distilled water
- 1/4 cup vodka
- 1/4 tsp. Essential Oil of Peppermint
- 1/4 tsp. Tee Tree Oil
Directions: Combine all ingredients and pour into a spray bottle.
Homemade Foot Soak Recipe
Treat your feet to a soak in this milk and water mixture and follow it with the sugar scrub for incredibly soft feet.
Milk and Water Foot Soak
Ingredients
- 7 cups of water
- 2 cups of milk
Directions: Mix the water and milk and heat on stovetop or in the microwave. You want the mixture to be as hot as your feet can take.
Put the milk mixture in large bowl and soak your feet in it for at least 10 minutes.
Use a pumice stone to get rid of hard skin. Rinse with clear water and pat dry.
Apply some lotion to your soft feet. -wear socks.
Homemade Foot Scrub Recipe
Treat your feet to a scrub with this simple sugar scrub for incredibly soft feet.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of lotion
Directions: Mix the sugar and lotion in a bowl.
Massage the sugar and lotion mixture in your feet to exfoliate.
Rinse with clear water and pat dry. Apply some additional lotion to your soft feet -wear socks.
Mediterranean Foot Scrub
3 tbsp kosher salt
2 tbsp olive oil
Combine salt and olive oil in a small bowl and apply in rotating circles to damp skin wherever it's chapped or dry. This scrub treats scaly winter feet and makes ashy knees and elbows velvety soft. Careful, though - the oil will make you slippery!
Other Foot Care Ideas:
1. Give your feet a treat with a foot bath. Add a cup of marbles to the water and roll your feet around on top of them to stimulate nerve endings. Pick up marbles with your toes, flex and contract feet and toes, and then release the marbles to stretch arches and muscles.
3. Great gift for a love ones? Foot massage. A vigorous, lower-leg and foot massage just can’t be beat for deep relaxation. Add 2 to 4 drops of peppermint essential oil to your favorite lotion for a sensational treat for your feet.
4. Moisturize. The skin on the soles of your feet, like your palms, contains no oil glands to lubricate and soften, so moisturizing is up to you. Slather on a thick coat of cream each night before bed or before working out, put on natural-fiber socks and let the conditioning ingredients pamper!
5. Buy right shoe size. The shape of your feet changes with age. By age 45 your feet may be a whole size larger than they were in your early 20s. Feet tend to widen and lengthen with age. Make sure you have your feet measured while standing--not sitting--every time you buy shoes. (Leave room for socks).
6. Get new shoes. Worn-out shoes have lost their support mechanisms, which can lead to foot, leg, and back fatigue and problems. If you exercise frequently or your job demands that you be on your feet all day, replace your shoes every 6 months. One of your feet is likely to be larger than the other. Always try on both shoes and buy the size that feels comfortable on your larger foot.
Shoe storage:
I like to air out shoes and trade off. Sometimes I put in foot spray, or althletes foot powder in my shoes. those plastic room deodorizers, or a cotton ball with a deodorizer. Those cardboard trees work too and you can move from shoe to shoe. Make up rice packs in a sock with essential oils and place in the toe. I make tyvek packs from silica gel (actuallly zeolyte crystals) to absorb moisture and odors.
